The end!

I have had this blog for so long, and it has totally served it's purpose, but I'm thinking of moving in a new direction. I know I only have a couple of followers, but I kind of want this space to be even more private. I would like to talk about things going on in my life and not worry about stepping on any toes or making anyone uncomfortable. Sometimes  blogging is the only way I can get things out, so for now, I'm leaving Wretched Hilarity behind. I'm growing as a person and I think it's time my blog take a different direction as well. So, thanks for all the support and for sticking with me through all of this. Love,

Hmm...

So it's pretty much fall now. I have had my first pumpkin spice latte, went to my first football game, and it's now hoodie weather. School is back in full swing and I am loving this season. I have been thinking about things lately though....

First, one of my friends from when I was in high school recently separated from her husband of one year. I'm really bumbed for her. It makes me really sad to think about how beautiful their wedding was and how just about a month ago, things seemed really great between them. She is a Christian, actually she's always been someone that I look up to, but I can't help but think how hard it must be, and she just started graduate school. And I complain about work and school and I'm not even in a relationship or anything. It makes me wonder if I could even handle it if I was. I'm not sure. I can only trust in God's plan for my life.

Second, I am so thankful for each and every person in my life that has been a spiritual role model for me. I have recently been part of a really tight group of friends at church that holds each other accountable and are just a great group of friends. Also, I work with a couple of the most spiritually mature men I have ever met and I love talking to them about Jesus. I am so thankful for my salvation and that I know I'm going to heaven. It makes working at a funeral home much easier.

Anyway, I better go now, but I just had these couple of things on my mind....

Have a good night!

God continually reassures me in my career choice

“For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

So revival was this week and a lot of my friends in the past couple months have surrendered into missions. After revival I have seen a growth in my relationship with God and I have a real heart for lost people. I have always been a person with my whole life planned out and I don’t know what I would do if I was called to leave it all behind, but I want to be in the will of God, so during revival I prayed that God would confirm that I was in His will, because previously I felt I was, but it never hurts to have a reality check ;)

Anyway, I say all that to preface this: Today my supervisor at school told me that this lady, Ilene K. Gipson Ph.D., a Drury Alumnus, will be speaking at Drury next month. The kicker? She is a full professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School!!!!! AAAH! Also, my supervisor is going to see if she can get me a meeting with her!!! I am just daily amazed by how faithful God is when I doubt Him. Anyway, I must go study!! :D Have a great day!

Overload.

Today I am kind of bumbed, confused, upset, not ready for the weekend to be over, but ready for next weekend already, tired, thankful, and hopeful. Yeah.

29.8.12

It's been a long day...

Well kids, school is back and in full swing again. I kinda hate that. I hate this time of year where the first week of school excitement has wore off and your new school supplies aren't in mint condition and you actually have homework to do and the weather is freakin' hot. Hasn't mother nature made us suffer through these sweltering temps enough? Now she's ruining school, too.

Anyway, my classes are getting a little more difficult now, a little more homework and such. I don't have big gaps in my day to get stuff done so I have to stay up late. And today is just busy, busy, busy. I have quartet practice at 3, work at 4, a fundraiser to go to at 5:45 and then I have to be home by 6:45 so my parents can pick me up to go to the Springfield Cardinals game. Wow! I can't be at church tonight, which stinks, but I might try to go to Applebee's....

Anyway, this is how I feel after walking home in the hot and thinking about how busy I am. Whew!
But then I get to see my bestest friend, get some extra hours at work, help out a friend, and see my family and such! :D
Hope you enjoyed those visuals haha!!!

Happy Wednesday! ♪♫

Moving out!

Well, as many of you know, last week I moved out of my parents' house and into the Honors House on campus. It's been very exciting, challenging, and fun!! Here's some pics of my new room, which I am totally loving!!!

The door fit in just perfect!

The TV and my DVD collection (which contains mostly TBBT)

Look at that matching fan!

Here are just a few things I have learned since moving out:
1. It's so fun to be able to do whatever the heck you want! You can eat whatever you want, whenever want, where ever you want! You can stay out til 2 in the morning, you can stay out all night! There is so much freedom!
2. You've heard it before: "With freedom comes responsibility." It's true. If you stay out too late, you have to set your alarm to get up early. If you eat in the living room and make a mess, Mom isn't going to go after you and pick it up. It's your job now.
3. Also, you have to buy your own food, decorations, and this is the worst: CLEANING SUPPLIES! And let me tell you, those things are expensive!!!! I spent $40 last night on cleaning stuff alone! Yuck!
4. It's just super fun and I think it's a great experience for anyone going to college. You learn to cook, create friendships, manage your time and just have fun!

In other news, after church today I decided that I needed to clean my car! So I went through the car wash, vacuumed it out and then put this cute little guy in there to make her smell good! This cute little air freshener smells so good and my bestest friend gave it to me!! :D

21.8.12

So since my last post I moved!

Here are a couple of pics... I want to post more later cause there is GREAT natural light in my room! Anyway, moving is weird and I'm still getting used to it... The new place.

Today I accidentally missed my first analytical chemistry lab. Oops! So my goal for tomorrow is to not miss any classes or my orchestra audition. Then after the very long day I have to rush to McAlister's for a fundraiser for Jeremy (a guy from my church who got in a terrible motorcycle accident and is in the hopsital) and then church! Yay! Hopefully I can have a sleep over too! :D Happy school year!

17.8.12

moving is scary stuff

I have never moved. Well, I've never remembered moving. When I was two my family moved from Strafford to Springfield, and we've lived in the same house for the past 18 years. Tomorrow is the first time I am ever going to remember moving and I don't even know what to bring. I haven't started packing clothing or anything, so right now I'm making my checklist (that I should have done weeks ago, I guess). Ooops!

15.8.12

just a few new things in my life...

1) Last night Karasyn and I had a Mary Kay party! It was super duper fun! We had a lot of girls come out for facials and snacks!

2) I move on Saturday! Eeeeeeeep! I'm so nervous and excited! I can't believe this is real life. Just 6 months ago I was thinking it was a pipe dream that I could live on campus at all at Drury, then this application just fell into my lap and I just happened to get accepted! It's really exciting that I get to meet new people and I am actually living on my own on campus, but I'm nervous about getting along with the girls and having to buy my own groceries and not being close to my church and friends... I almost feel like I won't be as close to my friends because I literally will be further away. It's silly I know, but I feel like I'm going to miss out on a lot of stuff at home. :/ But all in all, I'm getting really excited to be on campus and get the full "college" experience, and I'm just saying Karasyn better be there, like A LOT! :)

3) I'm so excited to start a fresh new schedule with new professors and subjects :) All of my textbooks are on their way and I'm getting super stoked to be all organized and everything! Also, this is THE YEAR! I have to have to have to get my shadowing in this next year and study for the MCAT because this coming June I take the MCAT and start applying to med school. OH MY GOOOOOSSSSHHHH!! I can't believe this is happening. Like it's really really happening. I'm sort of freaking out right now!!! AH!

4) I have a new obsession with Zac Efron. He's super hot and I want to go see The Lucky One. :) hehe

5) I'm loving the new song by Little Big Town, "Pontoon", "Lights" by Ellie Goulding and "Everybody Talks" by Neon Trees. Check them out! Something for everyone, no?

6) I really wanna finish The Help before school starts. It has taken me way too long to read it (I feel like a terrible friend cause I've had it for a few months now :/) and I won't have time when school starts, so that's my goal!

7) My little brother started HIGH SCHOOL today!!!!!! I can't believe it!!!

back to school = end of summer

These are the final days of summer. Babysitting my cousin when my aunt goes back to work. Sitting outside reading in this gorgeous pre-fall weather. Going to Boca Mocha with friends. Next week is the LAST week of summer and I am having mixed feelings. I am really excited to start my new classes and be on campus, but I don't know how this new job and new living arrangement will be and because it's something I've never done before I'm uneasy about it. I wanted to say scared, but I'm not scared. I am excited and unsure. Anyway, sitting at work tonight makes me wish I was with my friends tonight. I want to live up these last days of summer :)

Well, I hope your end of summer/back to school times are grand!

So I'm currently listening to this wonderful song by the Jonas Brothers! It's pretty much the best song EVER! I remember the day that Karasyn and I saw them perform it live! Flashback time!

Anyway, I'm getting ready, to get ready, to go to the Tea Room with my favorite ladies ever! Mom, Meme, Gayla, Aaliyah, Wava and Karasyn!!!! Yay!

Yesterday, Karasyn and I went and had dinner at Neighborhood (her brother works there now!!) and then we had to go to the ol' F.H. to make a DVD, which I found out this morning wasn't right and I have to go in and fix! UGH! Then we got stuff to make invitations to our Mary Kay party next week! I'm pretty stoked about that!

Have a great wednesday!! :D

Goals...

So I started reading this book about dating and in the first chapter it talks about how to get a life. In one part it talks about how to have your own goals. Here's how to start. Ask yourself, "Whith what areas in my life am I dissatisfied?" or "What do I really want in my life?" Then with the answers you make your goals. Goals must be three things in order to be succesful: Specific, Measurable, and Attainable. Then, after writing your goals, make a mission statement and read/review them daily. These are great tips that I intend to use! So with the new school year coming, there are some things that I would like to change.

School Goals:
1. I want to become more organized and manage my time better. I will write a schedule for myself and stick to it. I will not let clutter rule my life and will keep things clean, so I can focus on school more. By the end of the semester I want to have all A's which will bring my GPA up to 3.9558.
2. I want to be finished with my shadowing experiences by Thanksgiving. I have about 80 hours left to complete and I want to have it all lined up by the beginning of September. This will keep me on track with my pre-med stuff.

Financial Goals:
1. I am the world's worst budgeter. I just finished reading "The Money Answer Book" by Dave Ramsey and it talks about the importance of having a budget and keeping it. Also he says that our priorities should be to pay Tithes, Savings, then bills. I don't always put them in that order and I hardly ever save. My goal is to budget the next three months and stick to it and by Christmas have $200 in savings from my own paychecks (not loan refunds).
2. I also want to use my refund to pay some principal on my car. That way I can pay off my car by the time I graduate.

Spiritual Goals:
1. I want to read the Bible every day. This one is pretty self explanatory. It's hard to put a number on a goal like this, but I know that if I can do it everything else will fall into place.

Mission Statement:
I will use God's word and plans for my life to reduce stress caused by clutter and ill budgeted finances and create a life that glorifies God and is financially and educationally stable.

Well, that's that! This post is mainly just for me, but I hope it encourages you to make goals too! You can only achieve your goals if you know what they are!!

Mexico: the friends

So there is just no way that I can sum up the whole Mexico trip into one post so I have decided to post is it small posts :)

For my first installment I will be writing about......you guessed it!!! FRIENDS!

The best part of Mexico, for me, was the people. Every person we encountered was so welcoming and hospitable! The people at our church, Palabra de Vida, were so filled with the love of God! Here's a little bit about them. Their church is only one year old. In fact, their one year anniversary was the day we left Mexico. They have been meeting in a little house in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico.

The church has land close by but the city will not let them build a church. They are only allowed to build a house, so they have to sell the land and find new land that they can build on. It was so encouraging to see how despite their lack of space, they still had a good attitude and even though people were standing outside during the church service on Sunday morning they stayed and never complained. How often do we get cranky during church because the temperature isn't how we like it or we don't want to shuttle park because it's too far? Anyway, people at the church were so incredible!
Here is a picture of the Missouri team and the team from Palabra de Vida! Everyone is so loving and I just really hope that some day we can come back. Leaving on Friday was so hard!!!

This family was THE SWEETEST!!! Jorge was the music director/youth minister of their church and his wife, Pati, was the cutest thing! Their family is so cute and they love the Lord so much! I pray that they are so blessed! They even learned some English while we were there so we could communicate!!!

On the right is Liz, our pastor's daughter and next to her, her friend Sheila. We had great times with them!! It was cool to see two young people so dedicated to serving God in their church!

Anyway, during the trip I felt like I made a lot of friends. My camera is kinda crappy so it died a lot. I didn't get pictures of the people from Sunday (Ernesto, Juan Carlos, or Lupita) or Friday (Alberto, Genesis, Fanny, or the three hilarious girls that we sat with), but I am friends with them all on Facebook and we have talked! Which is the coolest thing ever! To be able to talk to friends from another country (with the help of Google Translator of course!) The love they all have for using their talents for God is so amazing to me and a lot of times I take that for granted.

On the subject of friends, while we were in Mexico my bestest friend in the whole wide world got saved and now we really will spend FOREVER with each other!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D I could not be more happy for her! God has been doing big things in her life lately and I'm so proud of her!

Also, I got closer to a lot of my friends from church and am so thankful for those friendships that are truly based on God! God has really blessed me by putting me in the Broadway college class! If you are looking for a place to get plugged in and serve God, Broadway is a great place to start!!!! :D

Anyway, the hour is late and I'm tired. Tomorrow is school supply shopping! I have so much more to tell everyone, but I must cut it short tonight!

Adiós!!!

Preparing for MEXICO!!!!!!

I can't believe there are only 4 days until Mexico! There are so many things I'm excited about for this trip! I have never been out of the country and I don't ever remember flying! I did when I was like 2, but I don't remember it. I am so stoked to travel. I love it! I also am so excited to use the Spanish I have learned in school and I am actually getting a whole credit towards my Spanish minor for it! This trip has already been such a blessing in my life and I pray that God uses the experience to grow me and to reach people in another country with His word!

Look at what the weather is supposed to be like!

Look at those low temperatures!!! I am so stoked!!!!

So right now, I am getting out my luggage and preparing to pack. Tomorrow I'm going to do a LOT of laundry and tonight we are going to Wal-Mart to get some last minute things :)

Yesterday Karasyn and I went thrift store shopping and then got our air mattresses!

Holla at us! :)

It's only Monday...

but this week already sucks. I know that crying and being a baby about this isn't going to help me one bit and that is why I want to so bad! Because in reality, nothing is going to help me right now. It's too late. It can't be fixed because I like her too much than to ruin what might happen between them. I'm just not that kind of person. Lucky for her, I'm the kind of girl to sit back and be happy for her on the outside, but completely miserable on the inside. Ok, so that's an exaggeration. I'm not completely miserable. I'm sad, yeah, but I'll get over it. I had my time to be a cry baby and I just need to move on. Deep down I know that whatever happens, happens for a reason. It's God's will and it's so much better than anything I have planned, but it just really hurts right now. I can't even describe how it hurts because the whole thing is out of anyone's control. I can't be mad at anyone and I can't hold a grudge, I can only get over it. So from this point out that's what I'm going to do. I'm done liking him. Because after this happens three times, you just can't do it anymore. You can't keep liking people to just see them end up with someone else. Part of me want to just give up altogether, but I know that's over dramatic. But seriously. It literally happens EVERY TIME!!!! I'm so done.

Today I wanna just go away. I wanna take an all alone road trip to Chicago, even St. Louis would be sufficient for me. I would love to just go to a big city and spend the day walking downtown by myself, drinking coffee, taking pretty pictures and enjoying summer. I just want to get away, and I don't care if anyone misses me. I can't wait for the next two years to be over. I want to move away and not have my parents know every move I make. I don't want to work anymore. I can't think of anything I would rather do right now than to only have to worry about school and myself. But I was thinking today that even if I do move away, I don't think I will get away from everything. I know I will have to come back and visit for peoples' weddings. Anyway, I just need some time away from all of this.

I know people care about me. I'm not saying these things because I feel like no one cares, I just feel like when I say them out loud they sound stupid and petty.

Anyway, now that I've gotten it out of my system, I. AM. DONE. No more moping. No more feeling sorry for myself. Only hopeful surrender to God's will. The end.

answered prayer :)

Yesterday I was totally freaking out about money. I didn't have much for the week and then I knew my paycheck wouldn't be enough to cover car insurance, the rest of the Mexico trip, gas, stuff for the trip, etc. I was worried, but I knew that I could at least scrape by and that if it was truly God's will for me to go on the trip that everything would fall into place and boy did it!!!

Last night at church I got a call from my aunt who attends a small baptist church outside Springfield. She asked me how much I had left to pay for my trip and then told me it was covered! I couldn't believe it! Her church is in the process of finding a new pastor and she read about our trip in some bulletin and since they aren't currently giving to any missions they decided to sponsor my trip!!! I cannot even express in words how big of a blessing it is! God really does answer prayer!

So I am now getting really stoked for the trip and I want to start packing ASAP!

In other news, I got an email from school about moving in and I'm super happy about that too!! I think this is going to be a great experience!! I am not going to stress out about my financial aid because I know God's going to work it out too. He is so amazing!

Today I had a good ole time at the mall with my aunt and cousin. I got some hand sanitizer holders for Mexico and some new sun glasses (only $3!).

When I started this post I had a lot more to say than this, but that's all I can remember.... oh well!

9.7.12

Today I went through all of my emails from last semester on my school email account and it was weird. It felt really good to delete the emails from my organic professor and stuff and it was just another cluttered thing in my life, but then once I deleted it, it was almost like deleting evidence that it actually happened. It feels like I didn't just spend 8 months of my life studying hard core for some crazy hard class. And there was nothing spectacular that happened because it was done. I simply stopped having that class. I think things will sink in better when it gets closer to graduation. I'm pretty excited for that time :) I am getting anxious for medical school. I want to go visit other schools and I want to get my shadowing experiences and I want to be done with school! I am so absolutely excited for what God has allowed me to do with my life! I think the reason I have been so down in the dumps lately is because I was trying to find my fulfillment in life through school.

Yesterday was my first Sunday off in FOREVER! I was so excited to go to church and Sunday school. In Sunday school we talked about the difference between joy and happiness. This is something that many people are confused about. This is what I got out of it. I was trying to find my joy in school. I was trying make my life's worth my grades and my future career. It was exciting at first, but then it just got tiresome. I was cranky. I couldn't stay focused very long. My grades were slowly going downhill and I didn't even care. I just wanted to sleep a lot and then my sleep wasn't deep and I woke up tired everyday. At the very last week of the school year, I don't know how, I kicked it in gear for like three or four days and bumped my grades up to where I wanted them, but after that I just got sad again. Now I had nothing to procrastinate about. I had nothing to look forward to and I was apathetic about everything. So yesterday when we were talking about joy vs. happiness I realized what I had done. I felt like God had forgotten about me, but really I had tried to replace God. It is really sad when you think about it. We try so often to worship the things that God has blessed us with rather than finding simple happiness in the thing, but true joy through the Creator! I am so thankful today that God has revealed this to me so that I may not look for joy in school anymore. I think that's why I was so depressed! I wasn't even looking forward to school anymore because it wasn't fulfilling, but God's love is!!! God has blessed me with this amazing opportunity to go to school and I don't want to take it for granted. That's why I'm trusting Him, that He will take care of the mess that is my financial aid right now.

So in addition to this epiphany (lol) yesterday was spectacular!!! Karasyn invited me to her house for the most delish lunch and then her, her brother Troy and I went to a flea market, which was totes fun and I got this super cute mug with the metric system on it! :D

Then after church I talked to Bro. Mark about playing in the orchestra at church! I go to my first practice tomorrow! I'm ready to play this sucka again :)

I love weddings!!!! :) (Taken with instagram)

Then, after practice we went to Bethany's and played Signs, which is pretty much the most fun game ever! So all in all my first Sunday off didn't disappoint! YAY!

Have a great week!

I'm getting really annoyed with people who can't use common sense lately. I received a packet from school yesterday that said I still needed to fill out my application to be accepted at Drury! Hello!? I have 80 credit hours!!!! And think that's why the financial aid department doesn't have my scholarships on record. Why can't anyone do their job right?

In other news, I hung out with my cousin from California yesterday. We went to the mall and Boca Mocha and HuHot for lunch. She had to fly back today, but we had such a great time yesterday. I just wish she lived closer.

Tonight, mom's church is having a dinner with fireworks and the like. I'm just not real sure if I want to go. I think Karasyn has to work and it's always awkward going back there. I can always go downtown witnessing... I just don't know what I'm going to do...

summertime :)

I can honestly say that this summer is the first one that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy family vacations and trips and such, but this is the first summer I have embraced my free time and enjoyed the warm weather! I love the anticipation for school to start, yet I don't feel like I'm quite yearning for it like I used to. It's just something that is going to happen and until then, I am going to make the best of every minute.

Last week I was a little down, but this week I have realized that by being upset with how I feel and the circumstances I'm in is me just not trusting God. He is totally taking care of me :)

This week I have found so much joy in just everyday things.

Like buying cheap glittery nail polish and painting my nails :)

I also immensely enjoyed my Fourth of July at Karasyn's house. I love that family!
Anyway, I'm just happy about life I guess. I also am anxiously anticipating the day that God brings my future husband into my life. I truly believe it's going to happen and hopefully soon! God never breaks His promises. I am just super excited to see what God has in store for my life :)

Enjoy you summertime!!!!

Happy Fourth of July!

Hello! Today is July 4th! (If you didn't know.) I'm finally getting excited for school to start cause that means the heat should go away soon. I am ecstatic about moving on campus and shopping for new school supplies! Today I bought a can of spray paint for a little lamp makeover :) I will post pics later... I also have been pumped for orchestra this fall. It sounds like a great lineup and I am finally changing stand partners lol

I have been feeling a lot more crafty lately and wanting to do things. I think I'm starting to come out of this stupid summer-depression-thing. I don't know what it is, but it seems to happen this time of year, every year. So in order to enjoy my summer I am looking on the positive side of things.

1. Mexico! SO STOKED!!!!
2. No school. - Usually I love school so much, but I'm really starting to appreciate that I don't have homework, or tests to study for, or events to plan/attend. I'm enjoying sleeping in every day of my life! And I get all the more time to hang out with my bestest friend.
3. Sleeping in. It deserves two mentions.
4. Reading for fun!
5. Ice cream is an acceptable meal everyday!
6. I get to see my family a lot more too, which is mostly because of Dad's new job.

So tonight my family is going to get ice cream and park at OTC to watch fireworks. Tomorrow night I have to work, but my parents are going out of town for their anniversary so Karasyn is going to come over and spend the night. I think I'm going to ask my cousin that's in town from California if she wants to hang out on Friday, since she leaves on Saturday. Also, I'm off of work all weekend, which I could have used the money, but I'm glad I can finally make it to church on a Sunday morning.

Well, I hope you have a very happy 4th!

down in the dumps

Lately, I have just not been happy. I don't know why. Nothing truly traumatizing has happened to me. I am just having weird feelings. Here are just a few of my thoughts that have kept me down lately...

- I feel real ugly lately. I just feel like, why in the world do people even want to be with me? I am not that great of a person. I just have really strong dislike for myself right now and I can't explain it. I wish I knew why, because then I could maybe combat it, but it's just out of nowhere.

- I am completely broke. I am not saying this as an exaggeration. I only have $20 to last until the 13th of this month, and then I have to pay my car insurance and the rest of my mexico trip money. After that I won't have much left either because I have like no hours at work. I'm getting really sick of it.

- My job. I'm so tired of the drama and everyone getting mad over stupid crap. I feel like everyone at work is mad at me for something or another. My boss didn't even speak to me at work today. He honestly didn't even look at me... Who knows what that is all about.

- I am so irritable lately that I'm getting on my own nerves! lol

- This week I just don't feel like going back to school. The school has screwed up my financial aid package and basically if they don't fix it, I have to drop out. They are saying that I owe $27,000 for the year. UGH! No one there even knows what the heck they are doing!! And now the while financial aid department is on vacation. Just great.

Look. I just want to be back to my old perky happy self. Where in the world did that girl go?! I have plenty of things to be happy about! I'm going to Mexico in three weeks!!!! It's really happening!!! :D I have great friends at church and my family is so supportive of my school and my financial situation right now. I just need a serious attitude adjustment, so I'm going to go read my Bible and start my mission trip devotion book, I think!

So, if you read this whole post of my pity party feelings, congratulations! You are one of two people who reads this blog and/or cares. Thanks.

attitude reflects leadership and i hate double standards.

So we had a meeting at work tonight all about how we have to start cleaning the building more and getting crap done, but we've had this same meeting like 5 times and the same thing happens, the people that clean, continue to clean and the same people that sit on their butts continue to sit on their butts. But, the only ones that get recognized for cleaning are the day people who are here when the boss is, and the evening people don't get recognized for any of it, because they don't see us do it. Well, that's exactly how we lost our last person. you know, i would be fine with it if they didn't do the exact same thing they accuse the owners of doing. oh well, i guess i just shut up and do it, because that's what i'm getting paid to do, right? and it's not like it's that hard anyway.....

This week meme and papa have been out of town so I'm house/plant-sitting. Karasyn has been out with me and we've had fun watching movies and making bacon and cinnamon roles for breakfast :D

now I'm doing a pinterest craft! I'll post pics when I'm done!!!
COMING SOON ----------> THE WEEKEND!!
Enjoy it!

Today I am excited!

Today I went to Hobby Lobby and got out of there only $2 poorer than when I came in! Amazing I know! It's basically only because that's all I had.

Anyway, I bought yellow paint to match my new room and this plaque that I painted to put my instagram photos on! The plaques are only $1.33, so I'm going to buy a bunch, and probably mix em up with different sizes and put probably 16 of them on the wall like a collage! I also have great idea for the lamps at the new house! I have an old brass lamp I got at the Goodwill and I'm going to spray paint it yellow and get a cheap white lamp shade and voila! A brand new lamp! I'm also going to spray paint the desk lamp I have right now to match the new room! I am so stinking excited! After payday I am going to have so many cute DIYs to do!!!!

I am also really excited to go through everything I have bought through the past couple of years and sort it! But first, I must do laundry :(

On the bright side! I think my mom and I are going to the Tea Room tomorrow, which is my fave!!!!!

Well, now I'm looking for either one word to put on my wall in wall art or a phrase/sentence/etc....
Any ideas?!

pedicures and printing

This reminded me of Karasyn and Joe Jonas. The inevitable couple :)

"You are beautiful not for the shape of the vessel, but for the volume of the soul it carries"
<3 I must remind myself daily

I think I have mastered that!

The colors of my new room! Can't wait to decorate!!!

This is soooooo me! I wish I had money to buy stuff at Target....

Right now I am listening to Somebody That You Used To Know by Gotye. I LOVE it so much. I love the beat and the techno-ish background to it. It reminds me a lot of MGMT. Well, I forgot my tennis shoes this evening and I can't go downtown cause walking would kill me in the shoes I'm wearing. I gave myself a little homemade pedicure tonight! It was pretty fun :)

Now I need to print off sheet music for orchestra this fall! My day has been quite productive! I made $25 on my old desk today! My uncle and cousin, who I haven't seen in like 10 years came and bought it today. It was nice to chat with them :) I also did some laundry, got my paycheck, paid my car insurance, got a full tank of gas to go to fair grove tomorrow night for AFTERGLOW, turned in my late library book, paid my fine and checked out Slaughter-house Five, the next book on my reading list. I'm about halfway done with The Devil in the White City, which I would highly recommend!

I'm by myself again tonight at work and afterward I'm going with Papa, so that will be good!
Thanks for reading!

The Never-Ending Summer

Ok , so it seems that summer has already been like 4 months longs, but it's only been like 6 weeks. It just seems like it has been forever because I started a second job the first week of summer and have only had like 7 days off since. BUT! Yesterday, I talked to the greenhouse and told them I didn't want hours cause I have to pick up hours at the funeral home cause two people quit, and then at the funeral home last night I talked to my manager about getting the schedule worked out. I think my schedule for the rest of summer is going to work out quite nicely! I'm going to get every other weekend off and be able to play in orchestra at church! YAY!

So now I actually have free time to do the very long to do list for this summer. I have been so busy that I haven't been able to even organize in my head what things I need to do before this summer ends, so that's what I'm going to do with this post..... here's the list!

1 ~ sort through everything I have bought for my "hope chest" which is actually enough to fill up four or five hope chests. i would like to take a sort of inventory so I know what all I have. Then I need to pack into boxes the things I want to take to the Honors House and then pack into storage containers the things I want to save for when I move out on my own. This should keep me occupied for at least a week or so. From this I also want to see what I need to buy before I move.

2 ~ find some shadowing experience!!! I only have 8 more weeks to find some! I need like 80 hours more! I'm kinda stressing about that, but it will all come through hopefully.

3 ~ print off all of the music I am going to need for SDCO and Chamber Orchestra. I want to seriously practice this summer before school starts and secure a good seat in auditions!

4 ~ I need to get back to studying for the MCAT... that went by the wayside....

5 ~ Save the rest of my money for Mexico and find my Spanish Bible.

6 ~ Have lots and lots of fun for the next 8 weeks!!!!! :D

Hope your summer is going great and being productive! But only if you want it to be!

so random...

This is perfect!

I don't like Lady Gaga too much, but sometimes I would have to agree... sad as it is.
HA!!!!!

I have to keep telling myself that one.

My little brother has been saying this a lot lately lol making fun of people who don't pronounce their words correctly lol
SO TRUE!
That's how I felt when I came into work today, but I talked to my boss and all is good. Today has been kind of frustrating. I didn't get my paycheck like I had planned so I'm broke and I still haven't paid my insurance. I don't know what I'm going to do after work tonight....
I'm kinda mad cause I forgot my book, so I might just go home and read. I'm so exciting, I know! I can't wait for Sunday night! Church and then Afterglow! Woohoo!

Anyway, hope you have a great weekend!
