Nerd alert!

I seriously think I am the biggest nerd ever! I am thoroughly enjoying Organic Chemistry at this point. We have had two classes, only one of which was a lecture, but I am loving taking my notes outside of class and doing the homework and even working ahead, doing the practice problems and studying for our first test. Seriously, I am enjoying my organic homework. Wierd, I know. The other homework I have is just homework. Obligatory. Not organic. I am doing for fun. To pass the time. I think this will be a busy, yet wonderful year. :)

In other news, I got 3rd chair in orchestra for the second year in a row. I am just glad I have not moved back any. The music is pretty enjoyable we are playing this year. Also, I am so glad that babysitting is over. Hallelujah!! Anyway, I should get back to homework, but I just wanted everyone to know that I am officially a nerd. :) The end.

new (school) year's resolution // being healthier

Hello again! Pardon the cryptic and slightly despressing nature of the previous blog. I promised myself I wouldn't put that junk on this blog anymore, but hey, we all backslide now and then. Today, I am just sitting at the funeral home chilling until this evening when I am going to church and then hanging out with my bestest friends! It's been forever since we have all hung out! I miss it :( Well, anyway, I guess I will get to the actual nature of this post. A New (School) Year's Resolution!!!

Last year, I spent a lot of my breaks from class traveling to and fro. In other words, I went home a lot! What did that mean for me? I used a lot of gas (which got that terrible city gas mileage), I didn't use that time wisely and I ate on the go a lot. This year I don't want to do that. I don't want to go home as much. It would be really nice to only travel to school and back once in a day. This is going to allow me a lot more time finishing up homework while still at school and give me a lot more free time. In this free time, I want to start working out on a regular basis. Even if I don't go to the Drury gym, I still want to work out on the Wii or simply get outside more.

Also, by staying at school I will have to eat on campus, which means I can take advantage of the super healthy salad bar!! (And the occasional smoothie from the CX ;) ) My goal is to not lose weight or anything (although that would be a double bonus!) just to feel better and healthier. I just don't want to feel guilty everytime I eat something.

This is not to say that I am depressed about myself or anything. In fact, recently I have been super happy with where I am at. I love myself ( in a non-conceitful way) and have accepted myself. I just think this is the next step to me feeling even better about myself.

Well that's the business! I am now going to reveal the playlist of the week! What?! I don't have a playlist of the week? Well, then. I better start one!!! So last week, I was really in to Adele. I listened to that playlist while taking care of animals and such at Lisa's. Now, after listening to the mixed CD Tory gave me last Spring, I have been listening to Lady Gaga and some other popular stuff. So enjoy some heathenistic, worldly, unmoral yet completely infectious and catchy music!!!

I want to be told what to do at this point.

I kind of wish there was a textbook on dating and relationships. I might be able to actually get something done. You know? To get somewhere. I always open my mouth and tick the person off when all I have are good intentions. I usually just want some open and honest communication. You always are really good at listening, and I want to be there for you.

If you have any advice, please let me know.

So, at this point in time, I am trying to raise funds to pay for the sales tax on my new car, which is around the $400 region. I have 30 days from the date of purchase to pay this, which will be about 26 days now. As anyone that is remotely aquainted with me will know, I am terrible at saving. Terrible. So, in order to get a few extra bucks I thought about selling my text books from last year. Initially I was going to save the for future reference, but I thought, hey, I need money. Well, I tried online and they were going to give me $91 dollars at Text Bucks for my books. Cool! That's almost a fourth of what I need! So I went over to sell them and one book they wouldn't take cause it had water damage and writing in pen (understandable) and another book had water damage. Well they were both pretty expensive books. The latter, a hardback, is in actually good condition. I was surpised they wouldn't take it, because the "liquid damage" doesn't affect the text in any way. Oh well. I might try to sell it online. So now I am $45 short of the savings I was going to have. Poop.

So, I have a ton to do on Monday to get ready for school to start. First, I have to get a new parking permit sticker for my new car!!! :)

Today, Karasyn and I are going to some of our usual haunts, Neighborhood and Red Velvet and then continuing our HP marathon!! After that? I have laundry :( and 4 hours worth of Days of Our Lives to catch up on!

Rumor has it.

So right now I am listening, once again, to Adele's song Rumor Has It and I love love love love love love that song!!!! You should go listen to it right now, or better yet listen to is on this Adele playlist!!

So yesterday my dad and I went car shopping. Let me just say that car shopping is one of the most irksome things to do in the world. Well, we found a car just like mine that was 6 years newer and 140,000 less miles than mine at Friendly Ford, but when we went to go test drive it the rude guy said that he had just sold it, but it didn't have a sold sign in it or anything! so we were kinda ticked and since we had "window shopped" Saturday, we knew the only other car that we were remotely interested in was at Don Wessel Honda, so we proceeded to go there and we test drove this 2002 Silver Honda Accord (one of my favorite types of cars!) and my dad said it was actually in really good shape even though it has like 128,000 miles on it, but thats 80,000 less than my car had!! So anyway, long story short, I BOUGHT IT!!! Yes, I have successfully purchased my first car!! I am super excited too! It's so cute! I will have to post pictures soon!

In less important news, I still don't have my rain boots :( I am hoping to get them in the next day or so. I really could have used them this past week.

house sitting, a cake wreck and a car; the rant of a wretched week.

So I have been house sitting for my high school orchestra teacher, Mrs. Fent, and let me tell you. It has been quite irksome. I can't believe how dirty and cluttered it is, but the house is nothing. It's actually a really really neat house! It's old and super cute! BUT. . . it's like a freakin' zoo! There are 3 cats in the basement, 2 in the laundry room, one that roams the house, a koi pond outside, a bird and a stinkin', old dog!! The poor dog is old and can't hear or see out of its right eye, but it has already pooped in the house twice! And the amazing part?! The floors are hardwood and ceramic tile and she doesn't have a mop!!! Ugh! It was the nastiest thing of my life! Then there is this cat that roams the house. I don't get it. I am a cat person. I have two cats of my own, and while my poor cat Otis sits missing me at my own house, I am being attacked by Hateful Harriet. All I have to do is simply walk in the same room as her and she starts hissing at me. After a whole week, she still won't let me pet her! Not to mention she has an uncanny resemblance to Mrs. Norris in the Harry Potter movies!

So they are supposed to be back from their trip on Wednesday, so needless to say, I can't wait until then!

In other news, I tried to make a white cake with a can of Sprite, and it failed miserably! The cake batter was super thick and then the cake, although tasting like moist white cake, has the texture of a spongy bread. I still like it, but my Dad wasn't happy that I ruined his cake. Oh well! ;)

I am still looking for a car, but I think I found one. Everyone is going to think I am a complete lunatic, though. The one I want to buy is a White 2005 Chevy Classic, which in essence is the exact same car as what I have, but 6 years newer and 144,000 miles less than mine. The interior is slightly different, but it looks just like mine. I love it though!! Not to mention I need a new car and fast. First of all, my car desperately needs antifreeze, and I thought my dad had done it yesterday, but it almost overheated, which means that he ignored me or something when I asked. So during my "lunch break" which consisted of me going to Lisa's to let the wretched dog out, I got stuck by a train and since my car was overheating and I'm almost out of gas, I just turned it off and rolled the windows down. The problem came when I tried to start it up again. IT WOULDN'T START!!! Talk about scared! Anywho, my dad and I are going car shopping tomorrow. Hopefully we will be successful!

Tonight, Karasyn and I are hanging out! I feel like we haven't seen each other in forever, cause I have had to work every Wednesday this month. So I have that to look forward to and my rainboots should be coming in soon!!!! YAY!
