Hallelujah to the New Born King

Ok, here's the deal. This semester sucked. I hate hate hated it! I never felt like I was on top of school work and I had no ambition to be. Well, at the end of the semester, in organic, I had a B+, borderline A-. I didn't think I did too well on the final, but I was just glad that it was over! Anyway, I told myself that if I got an A- I would reward myself by getting my hair cut and colored and buying myself a new pair of boots. Well, I guess now I will have to do it! Also, I knew since most of my time was devoted to organic that my other classes would suffer, but they really weren't bad!!! My organic lab grade hasn't been posted, but so far I have 2 A-'s and the rest are A's!!!!! I am so stinking thankful that God brought me through this semester, 'cause it is only through him that I would have made it out that well!!!

Today my mom and I went shopping at the mall and I got this cool salt stone lamp that plugs into my laptop and changes colors. It is supposed to have some health benefits and I'm really excited about it!!!

I have been pretty sick today, but I'm feeling a little bit better. My grades certainly helped in that!!! :) I still have a few last minute gifts to get for Christmas, but I am mostly done! Hope your last week before Christmas is going great!!! Thanks for reading! :D

Mystic Cool

So, when I went to typed in this title a drop down menu of suggestions came up that included a past title and then super random ones. Hence the title. It actually has nothing to do with this post lol :)

So my semester is officially over. I don't have to go back to school until January 17th! Yippee! :D I can't believe I survived it. Honestly, it has been the absolute worst semester of my life. I struggled in school. I could never get ahead and at some point I lost all ambition to excel and just did enough to get by. I am sure it's going to affect my grades, but I just don't care. Isn't that terrible?! I think the problem was that I took too many classes. I took a pretty hard history/global culture class, two spanish classes, orchestra, a math class and organic. Next semester all I have is orchestra, which won't be hard at all this semester because our orchestra conductor is going to be on sabbatical, Organic II, Botany and Zoology. I am so excited to have all science classes. Anyway, I hope next semester isn't as hard on me.

I saw this on we heart it. I decided I needed a little bit more color on this blog. I really liked this little quote because it pretty much describes me. Or at least I thought so.

I cannot wait to move to Chicago. Yesterday, I got so excited when I was talking to my mom. I am pretty much ready for the new chapter in my life. This girl that came with my cousin the other day to the James River Christmas thing said something that stuck with me all week. She said to shoot high! It reminded me of that saying shoot for the moon cause even if you miss you'll land among the stars. Even if I don't make it to going to school in Chicago, I can still be successful at another school. But still, I really want to live in the big city where I can walk to the store and school and not have to drive through ridiculous traffic!  That's the one thing I hate about Springfield, is the stinking traffic!

I saw this picture and I thought it was so cool. Last night, Karasyn, Ryan and I went to the mall and to dinner. We passed that one jeweler in the mall and I got to thinking. I just can't see myself looking for rings. I mean I really want to get married someday, but just looking at the jeweler's makes me mad. Those rings are so darn expensive. Sure I would love to have a giant diamond ring, but how practical is that? Not at all. Plus sometimes I just don't even think I will get married. It's cheaper to just live on your own and I am kind of independent. So anyway, I thought this ring was super cute. It is just as meaningful as an expensive ring and it probably doesn't cost but a fourth of one. I really like it. I would probably like whatever my fiance bought, just because it would be so unreal anyway.

On another point, I hate it when all people do is complain on the internet. Not like complaining about your job or being single or anything, cause that's normal, but when that's all you do it gets super duper annoying. Its like, if people don't talk to you in real life and you complain about it online, what makes you think people want to read that? Then, when you try to be comforting or consoling they just get even more mad. You know what? You are a miserable person and unless you find Jesus, you never will be happy! Well, that's my little rant :)

Hope your Christmas preparations are coming along great!

I just want you to know!

I cna't focus on this ridiculous paper. It's four to five pages long and I can't even get past the first page!!! After this paper my semester will be over. Why can't I focus? Oh, because I just learned of the day's events and they freakin' piss me off. How do people get away with being such buttheaded idiots?!?! Highschool is seriously not for the faint of heart. I wholeheartedly regret all who must endure it's hardships. College is like your reward for not killing yourself in highschool lol

Anyway, I am just stalling this paper. I think I will write the rest of it in English, which will be three pages, and then in the morning translate it and add intext citations and pictures. Then hope to God that it's 4 to 5 pages and I can get at least and A- in the class. This semester has completely made me bitter towards school and the education system. Teachers suck!!!! Anyway, I am going to go finish off my semester now. Hope yours ended better than mine!!

Oh, and just for the record, I'm still holding out for you. I would love to see you get out of that. Maybe even realize what we might could be. It is possible. :)

Hebrews 12 :1

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”

This is my new favorite verse. It was written on the whiteboard in the organic lecture hall when I took my final, which is really random, but then last night was testimony night in college church and at the end Lacobee came up and read the same scripture. I have had such a hard time giving up everything in my life to God and this scripture was totally meant for me to hear. I just need to throw away all the “weights” I have to just do what God wants me to do. Everything else will fall into place. I know people have told me that all along, but you know that’s so much easier said than done.

I also found this pretty picture on Tumblr yesterday :) It made me smile!

Happy end of finals!!!

Countdown to Christmas!!! :)

Only two weeks left until Christmas! I still have a ton to do, but I love this season! Also, only four days left to this wretched semester! Here's what's left of school for me. I have to list is out to organize my thoughts :)

1) Tuesday
Tomorrow I have my Stats final, which really isn't a final as much as just another quiz. I am going to study for it though. My test grades in that class have gradually decreased and although I still have a 98% in the class I want to end with a bang!

2) Wednesday
I have my Global Awareness final from 8-10. It's icky, but not completely impossible. I simply need to put a couple hours into it, which I hope to get tomorrow evening at work.
Right after that final I have my dreaded Organic Chemistry final. I know it's going to be bad, but at this point I just want to get out of that class with a B, minimum. That's pretty bad for me. :/
That is technically all I have to do at school for finals. My last test is organic. Then Wednesday night is the youth musical and college church, which Tim says is supposed to be super awesome. I am actually pretty excited!

3) Thursday
Nothing, nothing, nothing!!!!! I don't have to go to school or anything!!!! I do, however, have to write a 4 to 5 page paper about the Mexican Revolution, in Spanish. Ick! I want to get that out of the way that day. Then, Thursday night I have a really awesome dinner date with one of my best friends from high school, Melissa, then when Karasyn gets off we are going to all get together and hang!! I am so stinking stoked!!!! :D

4) FRIDAY!!!!!!
My stupid Spanish paper is due on Friday at 9 a.m. Not cool. But I don't even have to go to school to do it. I just have to use Turnitin.com. Then that afternoon I'm doing a magic show at Disney Elementary for extra credit in Organic and then, if there are no visitations, we have our company Christmas party. I have been in kind of a boy funk lately, so I didn't ask anyone to go with me. I think I need to find myself before I can even think about being with someone. Anyway, I think it will be pretty fun :)

So that's my week, and then after Friday, I'm done until stinkin' January 17th!!!!!!! I can't believe it!!!! I hope your finals week isn't too stressful!!!!

Just hanging around...

So I skipped class this morning because I dread-dread-dreaded driving in the snow. Plus I'm not really sure how my car will drive in the weather. So, I have been home, just practicing piano for worship and starting laundry, but now that my mom is gone and won't be home until 5ish, I think I should probably start studying and practicing violin. This is my way of procrastinating. Blogging.

I have had quite the excitement the past couple of days trying to finish a huge paper for Organic Lab and one for Spanish. Also, last night we had rehearsal for the James River Christmas thing. It's going to be really great.

So I can't wait until break. I know my grades won't be so hot this semester, but seriously it's not going to kill me, right?

I started the Hunger Games 30 Day Challenge. I know. What a poser I am. Anyway, you can catch my 30 Day Challenge on my Tumblr.

Hope your day is more productive than mine!!!! :D

catching up! ( thankfulness // people, thoughts on reading and other random things!)

So the day after Thanksgiving I kind of forgot to finish my thankfulness post. So, since I know that so many people lost sleep over I will finally post it!! So here goes:

~ My mom/dad/family/etc. ~ I am so thankful for my supportive family. They love me even on my worst days and they are always there for me. I couldn't ask for a better family.

~My bestest friend, Karasyn ~ Well, Karasyn and I have been throught a lot the past couple of years, not in a bad way, in a very good and fun way! We have done so many fun things together and always made it a priority to hang out and stay in touch! Even though we are both busy with school and work and life, we see each other a lot and hang out. We don't get upset at each other if we can't hang because of homework and school and that is awesome, because it is already hard enough to balance a social life with school life. I am so thankful to have my best friend. Someone who I can tell everything to and who most often we don't even need words to convey to each other what we're thinking. Somehow we always know! :)

~ My church family! ~ I am so thankful that I have found a church where I have so many great friends that are dedicated to the Lord and won't lead me in the wrong direction. We have a great time together worshipping God and hanging out. It is just great!

Well, I had a big long list in my head, but since it's been such a long week, I can't remember, so I will proceed to the next order of business, the thing that has been on my mind for the past few days. Reading.

Have you ever read a book series and then when it's over you desperately want it to continue, even maybe have some sort of depression thing going on? I totally did that last week with the Hunger Games trilogy.

If you haven't read these books you better do it NOW!!! Anyway, this post isn't about the Hunger Games necessarily, it's about reading in general. I do this every time I read a new series. You get so invested mentally and emotionally becoming the characters in the book that when you are done and it's over you have this withdrawal. Like an addiction you have to have things to quench your cravings, you can't just come off of it cold turkey. This is why reading is so much better than watching movies. A movie you can watch in like 2 hours and after that, it's over. You watch the plot happen. It happens quickly. Then it's over. When you read? Oh my, you read and read for hours and hours and then, especially when the book is written in first person, you become the character. You think like the character, you feel the things the character feels. It is just so real. I hate movies compared to books, but because you are so addicted you have to see them. You need that extra piece of the story. Someone's creation of what the characters look like. In some ways movies enhance books because they add that extra element of pictures to the plot. You don't have to use your imagination, but in the same way, movies ruin the books, because now, what once was open to interpretation to the reader is now at the mercy of the producers. I don't know, maybe I'm overanalyzing this, but it's just something I have wanted to discuss, and if you know my mom, there is no way she would discuss this. She hates reading.

On a completely unrelated topic, I am quite sick of my non-existent love life. Things like this happen very frequently with me, and I am tired of it. Just give up? Yeah, I will try. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week preparing for finals and such!
