Countdown to Christmas!!! :)

Only two weeks left until Christmas! I still have a ton to do, but I love this season! Also, only four days left to this wretched semester! Here's what's left of school for me. I have to list is out to organize my thoughts :)

1) Tuesday
Tomorrow I have my Stats final, which really isn't a final as much as just another quiz. I am going to study for it though. My test grades in that class have gradually decreased and although I still have a 98% in the class I want to end with a bang!

2) Wednesday
I have my Global Awareness final from 8-10. It's icky, but not completely impossible. I simply need to put a couple hours into it, which I hope to get tomorrow evening at work.
Right after that final I have my dreaded Organic Chemistry final. I know it's going to be bad, but at this point I just want to get out of that class with a B, minimum. That's pretty bad for me. :/
That is technically all I have to do at school for finals. My last test is organic. Then Wednesday night is the youth musical and college church, which Tim says is supposed to be super awesome. I am actually pretty excited!

3) Thursday
Nothing, nothing, nothing!!!!! I don't have to go to school or anything!!!! I do, however, have to write a 4 to 5 page paper about the Mexican Revolution, in Spanish. Ick! I want to get that out of the way that day. Then, Thursday night I have a really awesome dinner date with one of my best friends from high school, Melissa, then when Karasyn gets off we are going to all get together and hang!! I am so stinking stoked!!!! :D

4) FRIDAY!!!!!!
My stupid Spanish paper is due on Friday at 9 a.m. Not cool. But I don't even have to go to school to do it. I just have to use Turnitin.com. Then that afternoon I'm doing a magic show at Disney Elementary for extra credit in Organic and then, if there are no visitations, we have our company Christmas party. I have been in kind of a boy funk lately, so I didn't ask anyone to go with me. I think I need to find myself before I can even think about being with someone. Anyway, I think it will be pretty fun :)

So that's my week, and then after Friday, I'm done until stinkin' January 17th!!!!!!! I can't believe it!!!! I hope your finals week isn't too stressful!!!!

Just hanging around...

So I skipped class this morning because I dread-dread-dreaded driving in the snow. Plus I'm not really sure how my car will drive in the weather. So, I have been home, just practicing piano for worship and starting laundry, but now that my mom is gone and won't be home until 5ish, I think I should probably start studying and practicing violin. This is my way of procrastinating. Blogging.

I have had quite the excitement the past couple of days trying to finish a huge paper for Organic Lab and one for Spanish. Also, last night we had rehearsal for the James River Christmas thing. It's going to be really great.

So I can't wait until break. I know my grades won't be so hot this semester, but seriously it's not going to kill me, right?

I started the Hunger Games 30 Day Challenge. I know. What a poser I am. Anyway, you can catch my 30 Day Challenge on my Tumblr.

Hope your day is more productive than mine!!!! :D

catching up! ( thankfulness // people, thoughts on reading and other random things!)

So the day after Thanksgiving I kind of forgot to finish my thankfulness post. So, since I know that so many people lost sleep over I will finally post it!! So here goes:

~ My mom/dad/family/etc. ~ I am so thankful for my supportive family. They love me even on my worst days and they are always there for me. I couldn't ask for a better family.

~My bestest friend, Karasyn ~ Well, Karasyn and I have been throught a lot the past couple of years, not in a bad way, in a very good and fun way! We have done so many fun things together and always made it a priority to hang out and stay in touch! Even though we are both busy with school and work and life, we see each other a lot and hang out. We don't get upset at each other if we can't hang because of homework and school and that is awesome, because it is already hard enough to balance a social life with school life. I am so thankful to have my best friend. Someone who I can tell everything to and who most often we don't even need words to convey to each other what we're thinking. Somehow we always know! :)

~ My church family! ~ I am so thankful that I have found a church where I have so many great friends that are dedicated to the Lord and won't lead me in the wrong direction. We have a great time together worshipping God and hanging out. It is just great!

Well, I had a big long list in my head, but since it's been such a long week, I can't remember, so I will proceed to the next order of business, the thing that has been on my mind for the past few days. Reading.

Have you ever read a book series and then when it's over you desperately want it to continue, even maybe have some sort of depression thing going on? I totally did that last week with the Hunger Games trilogy.

If you haven't read these books you better do it NOW!!! Anyway, this post isn't about the Hunger Games necessarily, it's about reading in general. I do this every time I read a new series. You get so invested mentally and emotionally becoming the characters in the book that when you are done and it's over you have this withdrawal. Like an addiction you have to have things to quench your cravings, you can't just come off of it cold turkey. This is why reading is so much better than watching movies. A movie you can watch in like 2 hours and after that, it's over. You watch the plot happen. It happens quickly. Then it's over. When you read? Oh my, you read and read for hours and hours and then, especially when the book is written in first person, you become the character. You think like the character, you feel the things the character feels. It is just so real. I hate movies compared to books, but because you are so addicted you have to see them. You need that extra piece of the story. Someone's creation of what the characters look like. In some ways movies enhance books because they add that extra element of pictures to the plot. You don't have to use your imagination, but in the same way, movies ruin the books, because now, what once was open to interpretation to the reader is now at the mercy of the producers. I don't know, maybe I'm overanalyzing this, but it's just something I have wanted to discuss, and if you know my mom, there is no way she would discuss this. She hates reading.

On a completely unrelated topic, I am quite sick of my non-existent love life. Things like this happen very frequently with me, and I am tired of it. Just give up? Yeah, I will try. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week preparing for finals and such!

thankfulness // things

As anyone who is conscious knows, tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I'm am posting here on my little plot of internet everything I am thankful for, but since there are so many I will break it up into two categories: things and people! Here's the first installment!

~ Most importantly I am thankful for my salvation and knowing that even thought I am a sinner, Jesus has saved me! Hallalujah!
~ I am so thankful for a place to live and a bed of my own and food on our table. We are so fortunate.
~ Music. I know this is a wierd one, but music is just something I love and am thankful for because when there are no words to describe how you feel, music just takes care of that!
~ Education. I know it's expensive and most of the time a lot of hard work, but I am thankful for the chance to pursue my dream career!
~ My car. Over the summer I traded in my old car and got a nicer one. I am so thankful, now that the weather is turning a bit more winterlike that I have a car whose heat actually works and won't just stop running on Sunshine and won't overheat!
~ My church (more on this in the people section)
~ My computer! :)
~ My health. I am not the most fit person, but I am glad that I have the ability to go to class and not rely on handicap accessible buildings, and I am thankful that I have my sight and hearing!

Well, as of right now I can't think of anything else without repeating the things I have said or leaking into tomorrow's post, so right now, I am going to go decorate a Christmas tree and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving Eve!!!

Festive Flashback!

Well, it has been quite a while since I posted a flashback. I have just been so tired of making DVDs and in such a hurry at work, I just haven't wanted to do it. BUT! This one DVD had so many cool vintage photos that I couldn't resist and I thought I would show you!

Isn't this lady's hair amazing??! And that dress is so cute!

This is absolutely the perfect photo. The scenery in the background, the dress, the hair, and the road just brings this all together. If I had a band, I would use some variation of this for my album art, for sure!

This was a picture from her wedding day. I love the flowery touch!

Well I hope you enjoyed these pics as much as I did!

I also made a super secret Christmas project for my co-worker, Christina., and it turned out great! I am officially on Thanksgiving break now and I am LOVING it! Last night I never did get my homework done, but I literally have all week to do it!! :)

Have a great break!

Perfect timing!

This Thanksgiving break came about at just the right time! I am so burnt out on school, it's not even funny. Tonight I am going to (try to) finish all my homework for break so I don't have to worry about any for the rest of break! Today, we got our 5th organic tests back and it was pretty brutal. The bad new? I did horrible. The good news? Everyone else in the class did horrible as well, and moreso than myself (for the most part). If he didn't grade on a curve, I actually would have failed, I did so bad. I got a 42%! Eeeeep!!! But, on the curve, I got a B because our class average was 36!! It was so extremely terrible that I just couldn't do anything but sit and laugh at it. I am pretty stoked that I have all of break to do my corrections, though! Cool, huh!

I am just so ready for Christmas break, it's not even funny!!! I am already ahead of the game Christmas shopping too! I only have three gifts left to buy and then goodies to make, but that will wait until after school is out. I am even done filling out my Christmas cards!!! I just  can't tell you how excited I am for this holiday! Oh, and not to mention, 12 days until the Dixie Stampede!!!  Anywho, I'm going to get a head start on my break homework, but I will be visiting more soon! I will have TONS of free time!!! :)

Well, it is getting to be Christmas time once again! I'm sitting here listening to Mallory's Christmas playlist! I have already begun buying Christmas gifts! In fact, I only have 3 left to buy! Today my mom said she wanted to put up her new Christmas tree. We'll see if that ever happened lol. I'm going crazy over all the Christmas things coming up! Here are just a few of the up and coming Christmas events!

1.) A James River Christmas! ~ I am playing violin in the Wilson's Creek Campus production of A James River Christmas and I'm super stoked! Not to mention it will be great to no thave to work all those nights we have rehearsal! I love playing Christmas music!

2.) Dixie Stampede! ~ Our college class at church is going to the Dixie Stampede for our Christmas event and I am SOOOOO excited! I have never been to their Christmas show!

3.) Lady's Luncheon at Antioch! ~ My mom, every year, want me to go to this thing at their church, even though I don't even go there anymore. We have a yummy lunch and play a game with $5 gifts. I hae already bought mine! Then that evening, my mom, brother (possibly dad), and I are going to the Christmas show of the Baldknobbers! Yay!

These are just a few things that I am doing this Christmas season! What are you doing?!

Also, I can't wait until Thanksgiving break! Two more days!
