It's been too long...

Well, yesterday I got on Blogger to write a pretty epic blog, but then my Blogger Dashboard wouldn't open, and by the time I figured out how to fix it and got it working I one, didn't have time to write the blog because of my piano lessons, and two, no longer had anything to say. I still don't, but I just kinda wanted to post cause it's been like a week.

In the biggest news.........

Eh, who am I kidding?! There is no big news!! I really don't have anything to say. I guess you could say I'm just rambling.

Today I'm meeting Hottie Grandma for lunch at Ziggie's. Last night I was in such a bad mood and didn't want to go, but Papa gave me his gas credit card to get gas in my car and then Meme gave me $10 for the lunch so it won't be too bad. Plus, I think my mom is going to show up and then we are going to Lane Bryant to exchange some shirts she got yesterday. I got some major good deals there yesterday!!!

I got a pair of black, flared dress slacks in TALL! I never find them, and they are stretchy! The best part, though? They were only $10!!!!!! And then I got this really cute floral tank for only 12.50!!!

Well, that's about all the fun news I got!!! I am reading a really good book right now and I hope to finish it this weekend! If I do, then I will be posting a review!! So look out for that!

Hope everyone's summer is going great!!

So I bought an iPhone today from a nice guy who's name was Matt (shocker, right?). And I've been waiting for three hours for the new iTunes software to download. Fun. In the meantime, I will be reading or something. Who knows.....

Well, happy summer!!!!!

i just finished the season finale of hawaii five-o...

and what an adventure it was!!!!!! the episode started out so good! they were catching on to things, but then it went awry when steve mcgarrett was framed!!!!! AAAAHHH!!! And the bad guy is framing everyone!! And Danno didn't make it to meet his wife and daughter before their flight!! I just can't believe the suspense! i don't think i will be able to wait until next season!!! AAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!! it's quite tragic that i have so much invested in a stinking tv show.

in other news: i am applying for an on campus job and going in tomorrow to talk to my boss about stupid scheduling issues and i'm also doing very well on my wedding music.

since school is out and everything, i don't have much to talk about. just my lame life of work and watching tv shows. i might start talking about my soap opera on here, just for something to talk about.... who know?!

well i hope everyone is having a great finals week and a great beginning of summer!!

reflections...

i totally can't believe that this school year is over. how did that happen!?! so the past couple of days i have been looking back on the year and wondering what would i do different and what i really liked about the year. in essence, although i hate to call it that, plus-delta junk!  soooo i thought i would make a list. lists are good, right? yeah, that's what i thought. so here we go!

+i loved being able to be independent - it's so nice not to be so micromanaged like in high school. you can be 45 seconds late to class and the professor doesn't even care. if you miss, you don't have to tell them why! and best of all, no busy work. if the professor doesn't have anyhting to teach they let you leave!!! college is pretty neat.
+i liked not living on campus (more on this in the negatives) - i liked not having to worry about having a bad roommate, or if they wouldn't like my music playing at all hours of the day, or the people down the hall screaming at 4 in the morning, or sharing a bathroom with complete strangers. my mom and brother are always in bed early and it's usually pretty quiet in the house. there's no residential drama and i have all my privacy.  also, you don't have to fight for close parking!!
+playing in orchestra at first was stressful, but i learned to make it a relaxing experience - at the beginning of the year i hated driving all the way back to school just for orchestra, but by the end of the year, and after some really awesome musical experiences, i learned that orchestra could really be helpful in my busy schedule!
+i feel like my college is the perfect size - Drury isn't too big. all your professors know you by name (some sooner than others) and you are sure to know at least one person in your classes, but it's also not too small. it's way bigger than high school. the campus is small to average and there are still cliques like high school, but the school is big enough that you can get to know people all over. also, just because there are cliques doesn't mean that the people are judgmental. i got to be friends with people on the swim team, in sororities, in band, in pre-med and even the drama department. and since you have to take liberal arts, you get to know people in every department.

now some things that were less than perfect

-group projects suck!!!!  -for some reason every teacher thinks that it is really important for you to learn how to work in groups with people that they choose. and guess what? it's just like high school. you have certain kids who don't want to do anything ever and you get stuck doing the entire project. i am kind of ok with that because i'm a control freak and i like to be in control of my own grade. but overall, i hate group projects. i may as well do my own project.
-driving to school everyday can be kind of a pain- some days i had to go back and forth from school and home cause at school i had no place to store my stuff. this was really bad for my car. and then on days when i didn't have class it was terrible if i had extracurricular activities. also, living at home had its down sides too. my mother was really bad about giving me an early curfew. i'm sorry, but i'm an adult now, which means no curfews for me, unless i want to come home early and be courteous.
-lastly, i miss how highschool forces you to spend every day with your friends and now you really have to work at staying in touch - i have only stayed in touch with a handful of friends from high school. granted, i have made plenty of new friends, but i regret losing touch with a lot my really good friends. hopefully over the summer we can kind of reconnect.

well, this is what i have been reflecting on about college so far. i am super excited about the next three years at Drury and i hope that there is much more fun beyond that!!

thanks for reading!!!

Greene County Courthouse Excursion

So about three weeks ago I got pulled over for speeding, but the officer wrote me a ticket for not having a current insurance card. She told me that if I went to the courthouse before the actual court date, I wouldn't have to pay anything, so today my mother and I ventured out to the courthouse, with no knowledge of what we were doing, to clear up my ticket.

First, when we walked in the door we didn't realize that you had to be searched and so we proceeded to put our purses through the little searchy thingy (what is that thing called??). When my mom's purse went through the older man working there was like, "Ma'am, do you have a pocket knife in your purse?" Well, why in the world would my mother have a pocket knife in her purse I have no idea, but he had to search her purse by hand which was quite humorous. Then when my purse went through he was like, "And you have a camera in your bag." So I had to leave my camera in a drawer by the front desk. Then we thought we could just show my insurance card to someone one and leave, but noooo. We had to go make sure my case was on file, and fill out a form saying we were making an early appearance, and you know what that meant. We had to go to court. Well, I was certainly not dressed to appear before a judge and I was starting to flip out. So we had to sit  in the court room for like 20 minutes waiting for them to send up my file and then the Prosecuting Attorney came up to me and asked if I got a ticket for no proof of insurance and I said yes and showed him my insurance card. Then he acted very irked and said, "I'm dismissing this. You're free to go." So YAY!!! I'm not a criminal anymore!!

So tomorrow we are having a mother-daughter tea party at my mom's church and I'm super excited 'cause I get to dress up!!! :) I can't wait! I'm going to wear my peach dress and I have a cute little gardening hat the my grandmother gave me and I'm going to wear them. I always loved dressing up as a little girl and I'm super duper stoked to dress up tomorrow. I will make sure to take lots of pictures :D

Also, right now I'm having some major scheduling issues with my work and I am struggling with keeping a level head. So just pray I don't lose my cool and my job.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!!
